Sportimeline
Editorial policy
How Sportimeline checks sources, distinguishes facts from analysis and handles commercial content.
Verification and sourcing
Prefer official boards, competition organisers and primary match reports. Link sources for fixtures, results, squad announcements and records. Attribute claims from other publishers. Unconfirmed reports must be clearly labelled; rumours must not be presented as confirmed news.
Dates and updates
Show original publication dates and meaningful update dates. Match information is a dated snapshot unless a verified live service is explicitly identified. Do not invent scores, statistics, audience numbers or engagement counts.
Reporting and analysis
Separate confirmed facts from previews, opinions and viewing tips. Do not imply that editorial predictions are official selections or results. Sportimeline editorial is the publication’s editorial byline; named contributions must identify their author.
AI and copyright
AI may assist drafting and illustration. Check factual claims against the cited sources. Label synthetic artwork and use original, licensed or otherwise permitted assets. Summarise source reporting in our own words.
Commercial independence
Label sponsored content and affiliate offers. Disclose commissions near relevant links and identify the seller. Commercial relationships must not determine match results or factual reporting.
Corrections
Readers can use the correction process. Significant changes should carry a dated note describing the corrected claim.
